The Story We Carry in Our Bones: Irish History for Americans

Many Irish Americans today know little about Ireland or the history that shaped their ancestors’ journey. In this engaging and accessible work, Juilene Osborne-McKnight brings Irish and Irish American history to life through compelling narrative, enriched with photographs, illustrations, and original literary reflections.

Spanning from ancient Ireland to contemporary America, this heartfelt chronicle honors the resilience, faith, and cultural legacy carried “in our bones.”

Storyteller: Irish Myths, Legends and Folktales for Americans

More than forty million Americans claim Irish ancestry. This lively, illustrated collection introduces myths, legends, and folktales while explaining the deep importance of storytelling in Irish culture.

In ancient Ireland, storytellers were honored members of the aos dána, welcomed into villages as keepers of history and lore. From the One-Eyed Giant to the Salmon of Knowledge, the author—herself a traditional seanchaí—retells these timeless tales and places them in rich historical context.
