The Claddagh

The Claddagh’s hands represent friendship, its crown represents loyalty, and its heart represents love.

"With these hands, I give you my heart, and I crown it with my loyalty.” Those were the words Galway fisherman Richard Joyce spoke to his love when he gifted her the world's first claddagh ring. Years prior, he was due to marry his sweetheart but was captured by Algerian pirates and sold into slavery. When he was freed, he returned to find her still waiting. This inspired him to design and handcraft an engagement ring as eternal as their love for one another.
