Connemara Marble Claddagh & Cross Pendant
Connemara Marble Claddagh & Cross Pendant
This silver necklace features a traditional Celtic cross design. It combines Connemara marble and sterling silver into a distinctively Irish accessory. Connemara marble is known as “Ireland’s gemstone” and is only found in the heart of Connemara, Ireland.
According to a popular legend, St Patrick himself was responsible for the creation of the Celtic cross. He combined a Christian cross symbol with a halo representing the sun, one of the most important ancient Celtic symbols representing life and change.
The Claddagh represents love (heart), friendship (hands) and loyalty (crown), and echoes the words of the Irish sailor who first crafted it for his sweetheart: “With these hands I give you my heart, and I crown it with my love."
