McHarp Ballymakinny Cross
May there always be work for your hands to do. May your purse always hold a coin or two. May the sun always shine warm on your windowpane. May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you, And may god fill your heart with gladness to cheer you. The symbolism on this small, simple yet energetic cross is that of the Tree of Life, symbolizing life, spiritual growth and rebirth - health, hope, and happiness. The Tree of Life with its roots in the earth and its branches reaching into the sky provides a spiritual link between heaven and earth. This cross is found at Monasterboice, which is one of Ireland's best-known and oldest religious sites, with the ruins of two churches and a Round Tower, and three ancient High Crosses. Founded in the 6th century by St. Buite, or Boyce, the monastery became a great seat of learning.

Due to the hand casting and proprietary staining process, plaques are unique. Each cross comes with a hanger embedded in the stone. The cross comes with a descriptive tag describing the original stone, explanation of the design or information on where the cross is located.
